OLD FASHIONED BANANA CREAM PIE

1 pie crust (9 inch), baked
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 2/3 cups water
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 medium bananas
lemon juice
whipped cream

In heavy saucepan, dissolve cornstarch in water; stir in sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla. Cool slightly. Slice 2 bananas; dip in lemon juice and drain. Arrange on bottom of prepared crust. Pour filling over bananas; cover. Chill 4 hours or until set.

Spread top with whipped cream. Slice remaining banana; dip in lemon juice, drain and garnish top of pie. Refrigerate leftovers.

BANANA CREAM PIE

1 baked 9 inch pie shell
2/3 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. milk
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 med. bananas, sliced into bottom of pie shell

Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Gradually stir at least half of hot mixture into egg yolks. Then blend back into hot mixture in saucepan.

Boil 1 minute more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour immediately over sliced bananas in pie shell. Finish with meringue. Cool room temperature.

MERINGUE:

(Heat oven to 400 degrees)
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually beat in sugar, a little at a time. Beat until stiff and glossy and sugar is dissolved. Pile onto hot pie filling. Bake 5-8 minutes or until delicately browned.

BANANA CREAM PIE

9" pie crust
packet of banana pudding
wafer cookies
bananas
whipped cream

Layer the bananas in thin slices on the bottom of the crust. Pour the pudding over the crust and bananas. Then lay wafer cookies over the pudding. Cover the top with whipped cream, then refrigerate.

Banana Cream Pie

1 baked deep dish pie shell
2 or 3 bananas
2 c. milk
2 pkgs. instant vanilla pudding
1 carton (16 oz.) sour cream

Line bottom of baked pie shell with sliced bananas. Beat milk, instant pudding and sour cream together until thick. Pour over bananas. Refrigerate and top with whipped topping
