Cheese Topped Apple Pie

1 ( 24-oz ) jar apple pie filling                                           1/3 c. graham cracker crumbs
Unbaked 9" pie shell with flutted edge1 egg,                       1/4 c. dark corn syrup
    separated                                                                    2 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon cold water                                                   1/4 tsp. baking powder

1 (3oz0 pjg. cream cheese, softened                                 1/2 tsp. vanilla
                                                                                      1/4 c. chopped walnuts


 Spoon apple pie filling into unbaked pie shell.
 Beat together egg yolk and water in bowl until foamy, using an electric mixer at medium speed. Add cream cheese; beat until smooth. Stir in grahm cracker crumbs, sugar, baking powder and vanilla, blending well.
 Beat egg white in small bowl until soft peaks form, using an electric mixer at high speed. Gradually add corn syrup, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold Cream cheese mixture and walnuts into egg white mixture.
 Bake in 350° oven 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
