2 cups fresh pitted cherries 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 Crust for 1 (9") Pie
In a saucepan, cook cherries in water for 10 minutes. Mix together the sugar and cornstarch; add to cherries. Cook cherry mixture until thickened. Cool slightly before filling pie shell Bake in 425° oven for 40 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on rack. makes 6 to 8 servings.
