Nectarine Pie

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
4 med. nectarines
2/3 c. granulated sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 c. heavy cream
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, cream and almond extract. Set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place nectarines in boiling water for 30 to 45 seconds, then quickly cover with cold water and remove skins. Cut in half and remove pits. Place halves flat side down in pie shell. Pour cream mixture around them and bake 35 to 40 minutes. Serve with scoop of vanilla ice cream.
