Mix together: 1 (4 oz.) bar German sweet chocolate, grated 1 c. fine ground Ritz crackers 1/2 c. nuts, chopped Save 2 tablespoons grated chocolate for topping.
Beat 3 egg whites with 1 teaspoon vanilla. Gradually add: 1 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. sugar Beat until stiff peaks form. Fold chocolate crumbs and nut mixture into egg whites. Put in 9 inch greased pie plate. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Then cool. Whip: 1 c. heavy cream 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Spread over meringue mixture. Chill 6 hours. Garnish with reserved grated chocolate.
