Unbaked 9-inch pie shell 4 eggs; slightly beaten 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 cups milk, scalded Nutmeg
Thoroughly mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla; slowly stir in scalded milk. Pour at once into pie shell. Dust lightly with nutmeg. Bake in very hot oven (475 F.) 5 minutes, then at 425 F. for 10 minutes, or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge of pie comes out clean. Serve cool or chilled.
