Yorkshire Beef Pie

3/4 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, thinly sliced
1/2 c. cooked vegetables
1 (10 1/4oz.) can beef gravy
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
In large skillet cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion tender; drain. Add vegetables and 1/4 cup of the beef gravy. Stir water and Worcestershire sauce into remaining gravy. Set aside.
In a 10 inch quiche or pie plate (deep) place butter and put in oven; set oven to 425 degrees. Meanwhile, in small mixer bowl combine milk and eggs. Add flour, salt and pepper. Beat until mixture is smooth.
Remove dish from oven. Pour egg mixture into hot dish. Spoon meat mixture evenly over bottom, keeping 1 inch from the edge. Return to oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until browned and puffed. Heat gravy; pass with pie. Serve at once. Serves 4.
